First off, welcome to the nicest community on the planet! Yes, we have the ability to loan out firearms/handguns for those who are just starting. We understand the anxiety while trying to find "the right one for you". We've done it and started off in the exact same spot you are in.

Just let us know prior to the class and we will be happy to provide many different options for your use while training with us.

Yes, in most cases. Distribution of certificates are determined by the instructor.

That's a great question so here is what is required and then what we recommended:

Required

  1. A good attitude and willingness to
  2. Firearm: For defense based classes it is best to bring the handgun that you carry/use the most, the one you are most comfortable using, the one that works best for you.
  3. Ammunition: At a minimum, 300 - 500 rounds is suitable for most classes.
  4. Eye Protection: ANSI rated safety or shooting glasses are required. If you wear prescription glasses those will work in place of shooting glasses.
  5. Hearing protection: I know...There are many kinds. Sure the foam ones work as well as over the ear muffs. We highly suggest that you get electronic hearing protection. These will allow you to hear the instructors and block out the damaging noise associated with gun fire.
  6. Holster: For our class it is mandatory that you have a solid, safe holster. One that completely covers the trigger and is rigid such as a Kydex. Generally speaking, a hip holster will be suitable for most classes. IWB holster is preferred  for CCW classes.
  7. Extra magazine(s): At a minimum 1 extra magazine and appropriate mag holder. It is preferred that students have 2-3 extra magazines with the appropriate mag holder. IWB rigs with a side car will suffice for CCW classes
  8. Footwear: Solid steady footwear is a must. No open toe shoes or sandals.
  9. Long pants
  10. Belt: Thick and sturdy. You are going to need a place to hang your holster from

Recommended

  1. Range bag
  2. Brimmed Hat
  3. Pen and Notebook
  4. Water/Soda/Energy Drinks and Snacks

Ideally we can accommodate 10 students easily and a maximum of 15 per class.
